New User Fees For Bonnington Range Huts
For over 20 years, the Kootenay Mountaineering Club, in cooperation with the
Ministry of Forests and the Ministry of Tourism, Sports, the Arts, has been
maintaining four huts in the Bonnington Range south of Nelson. These are the
Grassy, Copper, Steed and Huckleberry Huts. Due to increasing use, we are
instituting a reservation and fee payment system. This means you can book your
accommodation at the huts in advance. The fee for an overnight stay is $10 per
person per night and goes towards maintaining and improving the huts, and
supplying firewood. Refunds will not be issued for any reason.
Before heading into one of the huts for an overnight stay, you MUST
book your accomodation through the Kootenay Mountaineering Club.
Unregistered parties MUST relinquish overnight use of the
cabin to persons having reservations.
