KMC 2004 Climbing Camp Summary

Dates: July 24 to August 1, 2004.
Location: The head of Granite Creek in the Purcell Wilderness Conservancy.

Itinerary:
Day 1:   We walked from the trailhead on Valentine Creek FSR (626-568, NAD27, 3,278 feet) to our outfitter's cabin on Findlay Creek just downstream of the confluence with Granite Creek (456-489, NAD27, 4,810 feet).
Day 2: We walked up Granite Creek to Camp 2 (387-466, NAD27, 5,886 feet).
Day 3: Jane, Ken, Maurice, and Peter moved to "Camp 3" at about 6000 feet. Hamish, John, Sandra, and Doug moved to "High Camp" at 384-446 (NAD27), 6,525 feet.
Day 4: Hamish, Sandra, John and Doug explored My-Name-Is-Mud Ridge. Jane and Ken climbed the West Ridge of Clutterbuck (Peter, who was not feeling well, stayed at the Clutterbuck-Lees col). Will and Eva moved camp up to join Jane, Ken, Maurice, and Peter at Camp 3.
Day 5: Hamish, Sandra, and Doug climbed Unnamed 9300. Jane, Peter, Will, and Eva explored the upper reaches of Granite Creek.
Day 6: Jane, Ken, Peter, Sandra, and Doug climbed the South Ridge of Mt Findlay (John went as far as the snow basin below the South Ridge). Maurice, Will, and Eva hiked to Lone Cairn Lake.
Day 7: Hamish, Sandra, Doug, Will, and Eva climbed the West Ridge of Clutterbuck.
Day 8: Reunited, we walked back to cabin of our first night.
Day 9: We walked out to our vehicles.
