The 2011 KMC Summer Mountain Leadership Course was held in Nelson on July 1 and 2, 2011. The course began with a 4.5 hour session that covered everything from trip planning right through to how to stop things going bad on your trip. You can find my notes from the session here.
On Saturday, five people headed out with Shaun King ACMG Mountain Guide for a very full day in the mountains. They returned 10 hours later with their heads stuffed with new information including pacing, ice axe use, snow belays, short-roping, group management and much, much more.
